Nikola Diskic possesses an extensive operatic repertoire spanning from the Baroque period to contemporary works. As a “Lied” singer and concert soloist, he pursues a busy concert schedule. While still a student, he made his debut at the National Theatre in Mannheim as the Lackey in Ariadne auf Naxos and, a season later, received invitations to perform as Moralès in Carmen and as the Herald in Lohengrin. He joined the ensemble there in 2011/12, and his most significant roles have included Amfortas, Wolfram, Giorgio Germont, Rodrigo Posa, Figaro, Don Giovanni, Il Conte Almaviva, and Eugene Onegin among others.Diskic has performed as a guest artist at numerous notable opera houses, including Staatsoper Stuttgart, Komische Oper Berlin, Theater Basel, Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, and Deutsche Oper am Rhein. His guest engagements also feature Theater Dortmund, Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Oldenburgisches Staatstheater and Wiener Kammeroper. He has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Dan Ettinger, Alexander Soddy, Giacomo Sagripanti, Carlo Rizzi, Roberto Rizzi Brignoli, Axel Kober, and Ruben Dubrovsky, as well as directors like Lorenzo Fioroni, Tilman Knabe, Yona Kim, Dietrich Hilsdorf, and Christoph Nel.In November 2012, he was awarded the Arnold Petersen Prize by the Roland Ernst Foundation as a "promising young talent with excellent prospects." Diskic also received the Trude EipperleRieger Prize in 2015 for outstanding achievements as an emerging artist. The baritone is praised by critics for his "vocal nobility," "richly coloured tone," "beautiful legato," and "finely refined phrasing and exceptional portrayal," and his voice has been described as "powerful, voluminous, and exhilarating."Born in Belgrade (Serbia), the German-Serbian baritone received his initial vocal training there. Alongside completing a successful degree in Business Administration, Diskic completed his vocalstudies and master's degree at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim.
